Macario makes San Diego Wave move

Catarina Macario has completed a move from Chelsea to NWSL side San Diego Wave.

Macario  joined the Blues in July 2023 from OL Lyonnes, but has seen her time at the club punctuated with injury.

The USA international leaves Chelsea with 59 appearances and 15 goals, winning two WSL titles, two League Cups - including this year's trophy - and the FA Cup.

She has signed a deal with San Diego Wave until 2030.

A club statement added: "Everyone at Chelsea would like to sincerely thank Catarina for her contribution to our success, and we wish her well during the next chapter of her career back home in the United States."

Blackburn sign ex-Saints winger Redmond on short-term deal

Blackburn have signed former Southampton winger Nathan Redmond on a short-term deal.

The 32-year-old joins Ewood Park on a free transfer after leaving Sheffield Wednesday in January, having spent just three months at the Championship's bottom side.

Redmond, who has one England cap, has made 276 Premier League appearances for Saints, Norwich and Burnley.

Blackburn sit 19th in the Championship and four points clear of the drop zone with seven games left.

Rovers have included the attacker in an amended 25-man squad ahead of their Championship game at Birmingham on April 3, live on Your Site.

'Spurs considering Dyche to rescue club from relegation'

Tottenham will consider turning to Sean Dyche to rescue the club from relegation if first-choice Roberto De Zerbi is unavailable, according to The Telegraph.

It is claimed Spurs have been discussing alternatives to boss Igor Tudor, who has taken just one point from his five Premier League games in charge, leaving the club just a point above the drop zone.

A decision on Tudor's future is reportedly expected by Monday, although his situation has been made more delicate by the death of his father and the funeral this week.

The report says that ex-Brighton head coach De Zerbi is the club's first-choice to replace Tudor, but the Italian is reluctant to take the job immediately amid a relegation battle.

But it is also claimed ex-Nottingham Forest boss Dyche is unlikely to accept a contract for their remaining seven games.

The former Everton manager was sacked by Forest last month.

that De Zerbi is not expected to join Tottenham - or any other club - before the end of the season.

The 46-year-old intends to avoid an immediate return to football after departing Marseille last month and will instead wait to evaluate his options in the summer.

'Everton to offer Moyes new contract at end of season'

Everton are planning to offer manager David Moyes a new contract this summer in recognition of transforming the club's fortunes, according to The Guardian.

Moyes returned to the Toffees last January on a two-and-a-half-year deal, with Everton one point above the relegation zone after he succeeded Sean Dyche.

But the Scot has turned them into European contenders with his side currently sitting eighth, only three points off the top five, which is likely to be enough for Champions League qualification.

It is claimed that Moyes was initially seen as a short-term appointment by Evertons owners, the Friedkin Group, but they are now convinced the 62-year-old is the right man to take the Merseyside club forward in the longer term and want to extend his contract.

The report says that, while formal talks will not take place until the end of the season, there is confidence at Everton that Moyes is ready to extend his second spell at the club.

Moyes' new deal is reportedly set to give him a greater say over recruitment, with a recognition at the club that he is better at working with more experienced players rather than youngsters.

Bayern chief mocks Liverpool as he rules out Olise sale

Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has ruled out a summer move for Michael Olise to join Liverpool as he mocked the Reds' recent spending spree.

Olise has been linked with Liverpool after Mohamed Salah's Anfield exit at the end of the season was confirmed earlier this week.

But talk of the ex-Crystal Palace forward returning to the Premier League with Liverpool has been quickly shut down by Bayern's honorary president Hoeness.

The German also took aim at Arne Slot's side's 450 summer splurge, with the reigning Premier League champions slipping to fifth in the table, five points outside the top four and 21 points off leaders Arsenal.

Asked about the Olise to Liverpool rumours, he responded: Is that true? I dont think it is.

"Anyway, Liverpool have spent 500m this year and are having a very poor season. So we will not contribute to them playing better next year.

The 74-year-old added: We play this game for our fans. We have 430,000 members and many millions of fans around the world, and it doesnt help them if we have 200m in the bank but play worse football every Saturday.

Olise joined Bayern in the summer of 2024 from Palace in a 50.8m deal on a five-year-contract.

The 24-year-old, who won the Bundesliga last season, has 16 goals and 27 assists across all competitions this season.

'Decision made' - Casemiro dismisses idea of reversing Man Utd exit decision

Casemiro has dismissed the idea of reversing his decision to leave Manchester United at the end of the season.

The midfielder has been rejuvenated under Michael Carrick, scoring two goals in his last three Premier League matches.

United announced in January that Casemiro would leave the club when his contract expires after four seasons at Old Trafford and more than 150 appearances.

Speaking after playing in Brazil's 2-1 defeat by France in comments reported by The Athletic, the 34-year-old said: "I am still enjoying it a lot (in Manchester).

"It is huge, the affection that the fans have shown towards me. But I do really believe the decision is made and done. I believe it will be some difficult moments, these (final) games at Manchester United."

Casemiro, who previously spent a decade at Real Madrid, had warm praise for Carrick and the impact the former midfielder has had since taking over from Ruben Amorim on an interim basis.

"Above all, Michael is a specialist in my position on the field; he was a truly great player," added the Brazilian.

"That makes everything much easier and he is always talking to us. I feel like we are in a good dynamic right now in Manchester and my objective now is to get the club back into the Champions League."

United have won seven of their last 10 games to climb to third place in the Premier League table and will face Leeds in their next match on April 13, live on Monday Night Football.

'Enrique set to disappoint Man Utd by signing new PSG deal'

PSG manager Luis Enrique will reject the chance to take over at Man Utd next season, according to reports in the i paper.

Enrique is set to extend his stay with the European and French champions beyond his current contract, which expires in 2027.

Uniteds interest in Enrique is understood to come from chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, with the clubs Ineos owners believed to be more keen on appointing Michael Carrick, at least on a short-term basis, should he guide the club back into the Champions League.

Carrick is impressing in his role as United head coach having guided the club to third place in the Premier League and within sight of a place in Europe's premier club competition next season.
